“Thoughts on a friendly relationship with watermelons” is a visually complex piece. In the foreground, a number of watermelons are depicted with large, almost lifelike eyes that gaze lovingly at the viewer. Their eyes have the warmth of a close friend, giving the viewer a sense of familiarity and comfort.

Through the watermelon, this work explores our connection with nature and the friendly relationships hidden in our everyday lives. The watermelon’s eyes encourage communication with things we usually overlook, and offer a new perspective on familiar objects. Viewers will experience the watermelon not just as a fruit, but as a being with which they can communicate.
