This painting, “Food Crisis and Political Decisions,” is based on green with yellow and red accents. Green symbolizes nature and life, emphasizing the importance of food. At the heart of the work are traditional Japanese foods based on rice. These motifs are fundamental to our culture and diet and symbolize the importance of food. However, while the work depicts the public calling for government intervention, it also highlights the contradiction that the government’s coercive actions are actually contributing to the food crisis.
